One day, the most powerful man in the world, the Emperor Napoleon, asks you to be his lover. He tells you that if you agree, he will look favorably on your country's quest for independence. And then all the powerful men in your country ask you to agree to Napoleon's proposal for the sake of your country. What would you do? What would you advise your sister, your daughter, or your wife to do in this situation? This movie describes the relationship between Napoleon Bonaparte (1769 - 1821) and his "Polish Wife" Marie Walewska.
